These cover mismatched security settings and WPS problems, and they overlap enough that the same approach clears most of them. Skip WPS and set the connection up by hand: choose your network from the list on the printer and type the password in yourself. If your router has a WPS button you've been pressing, stop using it. Manual setup fails less often and tells you more when it does.
