B200 — print head or hardware failure

B200 is a service error caused by a hardware failure in either the printer or the print head, and most of the time it ends in a repair. Canon's first instruction is to switch the printer off and unplug it from the wall. Before you give up, it's worth removing the print head, letting it dry completely, and reseating it, because a wet or badly seated head triggers the same code. If it comes straight back after that, you're choosing between a repair quote and a new printer, and on a budget model the quote often loses.
