Where Canon setup actually begins
Canon's genuine setup address is ij.start.canon. You enter your model number and it gives you the right software for your operating system. Type that address into the browser bar yourself rather than clicking a search result, because that exact string has been copied by lookalike sites that buy ads, charge for software Canon gives away free, and print a support phone number on the page. Canon won't ask you to pay for setup software and won't ask to take over your screen. If a page does either, close it.
