Banding in photos

Faint horizontal bands that show up in photographs but not in text are usually alignment rather than blocked nozzles. Run print head alignment from the maintenance menu and let it finish, which takes a couple of sheets. Paper matters more here than people expect: photo settings on plain paper produce banding that no alignment will fix.
